According to Northview volleyball coach Laura Rahn, the Knights have been working on increasing their mental focus versus opponents in recent practices.

In Thursday's game versus conference foe Edgewood, the Knights overcame one stigma this year by winning their first set 21-18, but then slipped a bit in losing their next set 14-21.

Northview then dropped behind early before rallying for a late 21-17 decision in the third set. But once more, the Knights let the Mustangs even the match with a 16-21 fourth set loss forcing a fifth and deciding set.

Edgewood took the early advantage and wouldn't relinquish it on the way to a 15-8 win.

The Knights fared well versus the Mustangs hitting attack but had difficulty handling the off-speed tips that Edgewood threw at them.

The Knights were lead in kills by Lindsey Stearley who had 11 followed by Christy Fulk's nine and Casey Challandes' seven. Erica Koehler added another four kills but topped the assist list with 15 and had a team-high six digs. Laura McCrea lead the squad in service points with nine followed by Heather Palmer (seven) and Jade Girton (six).

The Knights (1-4 overall, 0-1 WIC) will travel to the Crawfordsville Tournament on Saturday morning beginning at 8 a.m.
