The Clay City Eels kicked off their 2003 Cross-country season with a pair of strong finishes at the Riverton Parke Invitational on Saturday.
Andy Huggler lead the way for the Eels, taking third place overall in 18:39 as Clay City's boys team placed second in the nine-team field.
Following Huggler was David Schroer who took fourth place in a time of 18:50. He was followed closely behind by Jared Schlak in fifth place while Camrand Tucker was 10th and Dustin Souder 16th to cap the team scoring for Clay City.
South Knox was the team titlist in the boys race, while Linton was third, North Central fourth and Seeger rounded out the top-five.
The girls team also finished second though individual results were not available at presstime.
The Eels are scheduled to run versus Shakamak this evening at home beginning at 4:30 p.m.
