Northview cross-country teams get dual meet wins

The Northview cross-country teams picked up a pair of dual meet victories on Wednesday evening versus South Vermillion. The boys won their meet, 17-46 as Matt Brand was victorious in a time of 18:05 followed by Josh Timm in 18:25 and Justin Scherb in 18:42 for the Knights.

Cam King placed fifth for Northview in a time of 19:06, Jared Reece was sixth in 19:33 to round out the team scoring for the Knights.

Also placing in the top-10 for Northview was Ryan Thompson in seventh with a 19:47 followed by Hunter Reberger in eighth with a 20:33 and Logan Wegner in ninth with a 20:49. Kyle Colson took 12th and Drew White finished in 15th.

In the girls' race, the Knights won 18-42 as Shandra Kirby won with a time of 16:12 followed by Emily Pugh win 16:36. Julia Costello of South Vermillion was third while Mary Pugh of Northview took fourth in 17:07. Kim Deakins crossed in 17:13 for fifth and Nikki Royer was sixth in 17:40 followed by Emily Lutes in eighth with a time of 20:00 and Brit Hoffman in 10th with a time of 22:28.

The Knights will run in the Cascade Invitational on Saturday morning.
