The 10-ranked Northview girls golf team dominated their Western Indiana Conference opponents on Saturday at Stonecrest Golf Course.
The Knights finished 81 shots ahead of second place Edgewood in the WIC meet.
Northview was lead by medalist Amy Thiemann's 81 on their way to a team score of 343. The second-place Mustangs were second with 424 strokes followed by West Vigo, Owen Valley and Sullivan.
Brittney Cheek placed second with her 84 followed by Kelsey Smith's 89 and Millie Akers' 89. Amber Trusler carded a 92 to place all five Northview golfers on the All-Conference team.
The Knights will face 15-ranked Bloomington North at Forest Park Golf Course on Tuesday afternoon in a match-up of two of the state's best golf squads. Tee-time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. for all those interested in attending. Admission is free.
On Saturday, host Northview split a pair of varsity matches versus conference foes Brown County and Sullivan.
The Knights lost to Sullivan 21-18, 21-17, 21-10 before defeating Brown County 21-15, 21-13, 21-15 to improve to 1-2 overall in the Western Indiana Conference.
Northview was lead by Erica Koehler's 17 assists, eight kills, eight digs, nine service points and five aces. Christy Fulk had 12 kills to lead the Knights while Heather Palmer's seven blocks was tops on the team. She also added seven kills while Casey Challandes had five digs and nine service points. Lindsey Stearley added another eight kills for Northview to go with four blocks and Natalie Shoemaker had 17 assists and seven service points. Laura McCrea had nine kills and seven points while Natalie Spugnardi had four digs.
The Knights (4-8 overall) will host West Vigo this evening at 6 p.m.
Junior Varsity volleyball

Northview's junior varsity volleyball squad went 1-2 in the Patriot's JV Invitational, beating Terre Haute North 21-15, 21-12 while losing a close match to West Vigo, 18-21, 19-21 and falling to Terre Haute South 11-21, 11-21.

The Knights dropped both contests in a tough matchup with Bloomington South, 17-21, 12-21 and Covington, 18-21, 16-21.
At Terre Haute South (Braves Invitational)
The Knights struggled against a top-notch field featuring No. 10 ranked Terre Haute North, No. 18 Terre Haute South and 15th-ranked Evansville Memorial.
At No. 1 singles Tyler Akers dropped his first two matches of the day before winning his seventh place match versus Josh Cuvelier of Terre Haute South's red squad, 6-0, 6-1.
At No. 2 singles, Cody Melega lost to West Vigo's Micah Williams and Danny Wilson of South's blue team before earning seventh place with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Josh Ezell of Roncalli.
In the No. 3 singles slot, Shawn Hughes earned seventh place by defeating Nick Ferrell of Terre Haute South's red team, 6-4, 1-6, 10-3.
In doubles action, Stefan Kiefer and Alex Smith placed eighth as did Jeremy Miller and Jacob Talbot.
Northview will play at home this evening versus Rockville beginning at 5 p.m.
