The Northview Knights through with their first conference victory of the season on Tuesday night, 3-1 over the South Vermillion Wildcats.
Stephen Stewart and Shawn Piatt each had goals in the first half and Stewart finalized the win with a goal on an assist from Dustin Jorgensen. Piatt also had an assist in the contest.
"We really played like a team today," commented coach Todd LaComba. "Until today, we've played like a team occasionally, but today it finally came together."
The Northview defense was keyed by Brock Crooks and Wade Thacker who patrolled the middle and backlines in front of keeper Jacob Andrews who tallied 19 saves for the Knights.
"(Wade) Thacker really stepped up on the right side tonight," said LaComba. Brock (Crooks) really played a good game at sweeper too."
The Knights play at home next Tuesday versus Sullivan beginning at 5 p.m.
