MARTINSVILLE -- The Northview volleyball team didn't get any favors when the draw was made for the Martinsville Sectional and they didn't get any on Thursday night when the faced Class 4A ninth-ranked Terre Haute South.
The Braves handled the Knights 21-5, 21-7, 21-10 to comfortably advance to semifinal competition.
Exactly one month removed from their last meeting with Terre Haute South, the results were much the same this time around for Northview.
On Sept. 23, South downed Northview in three sets, 21-7, 21-12, 21-13 on the Knight's home court when they were rated as the 18th best squad in Class 4A.
The Braves are apparently rounding into true form at the right time. South defeated two highly ranked programs in a tournament recently and lost a close match to a third before defeating the Knights on Thursday evening.
For Northview, Casey Challandes was the statistical leader with four digs, a block, four kills and a pair of service points. Erica Koehler added three digs, two blocks, three assists and two kills while Laura McCrea added two digs, a pair of points and Christy Fulk chipped in two blocks and two kills.
Natalie Shoemaker had three assists, a dig, a point and a kill. Lindsey Stearley had a dig and an assist.
The Knights finish their season at 11-18 overall and graduate five seniors from their squad. Erica Koehler, Megan Love, Lindsey Stearley, Jade Girton and Natalie Shoemaker finished their Northview volleyball career with solid seasons.
