Northview women earn win over Cascade

The Northview girls basketball team won their second contest in a row on Wednesday night, picking up a road victory over Cascade, 70-60.

Julie Whitted scored a game-high 25 points as Northview shot out to an early 19-8 lead after one quarter of action.

But after trailing 35-20 at halftime, the Knights had to hold off a furious Cascade rally in the form of a 29 point fourth quarter that closed the gap to within the final 10 point margin.

Laura McCrea rang up 15 points for the Knights (8-6 overall) who also got 12 from Casey Challandes.

Cascade was led by Stacie Gipson who had 12 points for the Cadets (6-7 overall).

The Knights will travel to North Central (Farmersburg) on Jan. 23.
