Eels drop road tilt with SWIAC's Cougars

The Clay City Eels dropped to 6-8 overall this season dropping a 48-38 decision on the road Monday night.

The Cougars were able to hold the Eels to just two points in the second quarter to come back and lead at halftime 15-14.

North Daviess was able to pull away in the second half, holding off the Eels in the fourth quarter by hitting eight foul shots for the victory.

Whitney McWilliams led Clay City with 10 points followed by Cameron Gerber's nine, Kasi Thatcher's eight and Sarah Kennedy's eight.

In the junior varsity game, the Eels got 10 points from Chelsee Gerber and nine from Kristin Tyler to pull away to a 36-20 victory.

Despite being held scorless in the first quarter, the Eels came back to outscore the Cougars 36 to 16 in the final three periods.
