Clay City falls short of Lakers

Thursday, January 22, 2004

The Clay City girls basketball program dropped their second straight contest with a 55-43 loss to Shakamak on Tuesday night.

The Eels fell behind early as the Lakers got off to a 16-7 advantage after one quarter.

Shakamak would get to the line 19 times compared to just six for the Eels who hit five from the line. The Lakers however would hit 13 in picking up the win.

Despite 11 points from Cameron Gerber and a 10 point effort from Sarah Kennedy the Eels could not overcome that early disadvantage.

Kasi Thatcher and Whitney McWilliams each had nine points in the defeat.
