Eels handle SWIAC's Cougars

The Clay City Eels improved to 9-5 overall this season with a Southwestern Indiana Athletic Conference win over North Daviess on Friday night, 62-37.

The Eels placed three players in double figures with Jared Defore leading the way with 19 points and Brock Roberts adding 12. Roger Harden chipped in 10 points for the Eels who got started quickly, opening up an 18-9 advantage after just one quarter of play.

Clay City continued their onslaught in the third quarter by outscoring the Cougards 18-7 to take a 23 point lead into the final quarter to cost to the victory.

Camrand Tucker led the Eels in rebounds with eight, including three on the offensive end while adding six points.

Eight different Eels scored in the game.

North Daviess was led by Andrew Wade with 13 points.

The Eels will face off with Class A's 2nd ranked White River Valley at home tonight in a rematch of the Greene County Tournament semifinals that the Wolverines won.
