Northview freshmen end season with a win

Friday, February 13, 2004

Northview's freshman boys basketball team wrapped up their season with a convincing 49-30 victory over South Vermillion on Wednesday night, their third win over the Wildcats this season.

The Knights got out to a 15-5 first quarter advantage and cruised to their 14th win of the season.

Coach Rich Schelsky had nothing but good things to say about his team's efforts this season and his own coaching experience. "I could not have asked for a better group of kids to coach in my first year of coaching basketball at Northview. We had a great season with the 'A' finishing 14-5 and the 'B' team going 5-1."

The Knights were led in scoring by Broc Miller who had 13 points in the game while Ryan Brown added 10 points and Brinn Meunier chipped in eight points for Northview.

"This group of kids has a lot of good years ahead of them for Northview," commented Schelsky. "I really felt like they got better in many facets of the game as the season went on. I really look forward to watching them continue to improve and help our junior varsity and varsity teams in the future."
