IU recruit leads North squad to win in North/South All-Star game

-Northview's Whitman hits for 11 points

Indiana University recruit James Hardy of Fort Wayne Elmhurst scored a game-high 24 points on a variety of inside and outside baskets to lead his North squad to a 105-92 victory over the South in the North/South Indiana All-Star Classic on Sunday evening.

Broad Ripple's George Hill, the state's leading scorer this season at over 36 ppg., showed off his passing ability in contributing four assists, three on alley-oop dunks by Hardy. Hill, an IUPUI recruit also added 14 points in the victory and Hardy also pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds in the win.

Pike forward Courtney Lee led the South squad with 16 points while Greenfield-Central's Keegan Carmony and Indian Creek forward J.R. Angle each added 12 points.

Northview guard Logan Whitman tallied 11 points, including three 3-pointers in the game.

In the girls contest, the North girls led by Merrillville's Julie DeMuth's 24 points dominated the first half of play on the way to a 96-85 victory.

DeMuth, a Ball State recruit led her team to victory while Ben Davis senior Janese Banks, a Wisconsin recruit, finished with 17 points on eight-of-24 shooting. Martinsville's Ashley Cazee added 16 points.
