Northview's 'C' squad takes three of four weekend contests

Northview's 'C' baseball team won three-of-four contests this weekend with a sweep of Brown County and a split with rival Terre Haute South on Friday night.

The Knights took the opening contest with the Braves, 8-4, as John Reberger got the win on the mound and added a pair of hits, including a double and three RBI's.

Travis Nodley and Jordan Palm also had a pair of hits for Northview in the victory.

In the second game, Jacob Webster got the loss in a 5-2 decision despite allowing just one hit. Four walks and three errors behind him affected the outcome while Alex Smith, Chase Yocom, Jordan Myers and Jared Lumsdom each had hits in the loss.

On Saturday, the Knights opened play with the Eagles with a 3-0 shutout victory as Michael Medearis struck out 12 batters while allowing five hits in five innings.

Deakins had a pair of hits, including a double and an RBI while J.J. Smerdel and Jordan Guess added a hit and a run driven in. Yocom and Medearis also added hits.

In the nightcap, Myers picked up the win in an 11-5 decision, allowing four h its, while striking out six batters.

He also helped his own cause with three hits and five RBI's. Jordan Pond added a pair of RBI's and Austin Bryan chipped in two hits. Deakins drove in a run with a hit and Lumsdom added a hit.

The Knights will travel to South Vermillion on Tuesday evening.
