Knights drop match to Clovers

Wednesday, April 21, 2004

The Cloverdale Clovers surprised Northview on the links Monday night with a 154 to 160 victory at Clover Meadows golf course.

The Knights got a 38 from Kyle Kumpf and a 39 from Austin Schutte but they weren't enough to overcome medalist Matt Langdon's two-under par 34 from Cloverdale.

Adam Thiemann shot a 41 for the Knights and Tyler Akers carded a 42. Roy Wyndham shot a 43 and Caleb Edington had a 44 for the Knights.

"We didn't play particularly well tonight," said Northview coach Scott Buell. "When you don't play a course often and aren't used to playing it, it's hard to choose clubs sometimes," noted Buell. "The greens were pretty hard too and we just couldn't make the adjustments tonight."

Northview hopes to rebound tonight with a dual match with Western Indiana Conference foe Owen Valley at Forest Park tonight.
