The visiting Greencastle Tiger Cubs handed the Northview Knights just their third dual match defeat of the season on Monday night, winning by one stroke, 152-153.
With 20 scheduled events this season, the Knights sat out their usual top-three competitors since the IHSAA allows athletes to play in only 18 matches in one season.
Freshman Jeremy Johnson got his first varsity opportunity, carding a 41 for the Knights, the same as Austin Staley.
James Gram of the Greencastle Tiger Cubs earned medalist honors with his round of 35.
The Knights were led by Kyle Kumpf and Devin Whittington who each shot a 37.
"I don't want to make excuses about the match since we didn't play our top-three. We got some good efforts from Kyle (Kumpf) and Devin (Whittington). Jeremy Johnson played in his first ever varsity match tonight," said head coach Scott Buell.
Austin Schutte shot a 39 for Northview with Roy Wyndham carding a round of 40.
The Knights hope to rebound tonight with a match at Hulman Links beginning at 4:15 p.m.
