Clay City boys 2nd at SWIAC track meet

The Clay City boys track team earned a runnerup finish in the Southwestern Indiana Athletic Conference track meet on Friday night.

Senior Roger Harden placed first in both the shotput and discus events to pace the Eels and Andy Huggler won the 1,600 meters, was second in the 800 and joined the second place 1,600 and 3,200 relay teams.

Kyle Tiefel, Jared Schlak and David Schoer were part of the 3,200 relay squad while Camrand Tucker, Cole Schroer and Jared Defore were part of the 1,600 team.

Defore was third in the long jump and 300 hurdles along with fourth in the 110 hurdles. Tucker was fifth in the 110 hurdles and fourth in the 300 event.

Cole Schroer placed fourth in the high jump and 400 meters with David Schroer taking fourth in the 3,200 ahead of Logan Bettenbrock who also was fourth in the 1,600 meter event.

Also for the Eels, Kyle Booe placed second in the discus while Stephen Johnson took fifth in the 200 meters for Clay City.
