Northview's Kristy Backfish rallied to a three-set win over Bloomfield's Ashley Bailey at number three singles on Monday night to send the Knights to a 3-2 match win over the Cardinals.
The Knights opened up an early advantage with a pair of doubles wins, but Bloomfield evened the match when Brittany Kuruzonich defeated Melissa Miller 3-6, 1-6 and Miranda Helms battled to a 5-7, 4-6 win over Northview's Trace Hassler at number one singles.
Backfish had dropped her first set 6-7 (3-7) in the tiebreak, but rallied for a 6-2 win in the second set and solidified the team win with a 6-1 third set victory.
The victory moved the Knights record to 10-6 overall for Northview and propels them into sectional play on Wednesday on a high note.
In doubles play Monday, Megan Love and Heather Palmer won 6-0, 7-5 over Whitney Warrick and Stacy Wolf and Rachel Deal and Sarah Cox won their match 7-5, 6-4.
Deal and Cox's win improved their season record to an impressive 15-1 overall.
In junior varsity play, Madason Stevenson and Kellsy Maurer won their match 8-5 and Kristen Hauser teamed with Ramey Hayes for an 8-0 win.
The Knights will now face Owen Valley on Wednesday evening's Northview Sectional after the opening match between Rockville and White River Valley which begins at 5 p.m.
The winner between the Rox and Wolverines advances to face South Putnam on Thursday while the winner between the Knights and Patriots faces Linton.
