In Friday afternoon's Indiana High School Girls State Track and Field finals held in Bloomington, Northview's Nikki Royer and Shandra Kirby registered season bests in their respective events.
Royer, competing in the pole vault, soared to a school record 10-6, besting her own record by 12-inches to place sixth overall in the event.
Homestead freshman Katie Veith cleared 12-6 to set a state finals record that was held by Lawrence Central's Tori Allen.
A junior this season, Allen cleared 11-3 to place second with Terre Haute North sophomore Kylie Hutson placing fourth overall.
In the 800 meters, Kirby, who finished second in the Evansville Harrison Regional, recorded a season best time of 2:22.60 that was good for 19th place in the state finals. Kirby bested her regional time by more than a second in Friday's competition.
Lawrence North senior Temeka Kincy won the event in 2:13.43.
