Coleman Craig had a two run single in Saturday's opening game of the Cal Ripken World Series.

The CYL 10's dropped their opening contest at the Cal Ripken World Series in Vincennes Saturday evening 20-4 to South Brunswick.

South Brunswick opened the scoring with single runs in the second and third innings against Clay County hurler TJ Decker.

However, the CYL squad responded with a big inning as Ty Bryan opened the bottom half of the third inning with a walk for Clay County.

Jordan Girton followed with a single and Zach Hull was hit by a pitch. Coleman Craig then ripped an two run single to get the CYL on the board and knot the score at two-apiece.

Bryant Pestoff then put Clay County on top with another two-run double that scored Hull and Craig to put the CYL ahead at 4-2.

The Middle Atlantic champs responded in kind however, piling up a five run fourth inning to go on top to stay at 7-4. South Brunswick would go on top cap the game with a 13 run outburst in the sixth inning to provide the final margin.

For the CYL, Hull had a pair of singles and Bryan, Pestoff, Craig and Girton each had hits.

With the loss, the CYL was slated to face Little Rock, AK in a Monday night contest.
