Northview clips Clovers in first dual match

The Northview Knights picked up their first dual meet victory on Thursday morning at Clover Meadows Golf Course, defeating Cloverdale 158-196.

"We played pretty well (Thursday)," Coach Teresa Akers commented. "We did a good job of hitting greens in regulation, especially Brittney Cheek."

Cheek was medalist on the afternoon, hitting eight of nine greens in regulation to card a nine hole score of 37.

She was followed by freshman Mary Beth Tribble with a 40 along with teammate Amber Trusler's 40.

"Amber has really been moving up on the roster," Akers said. "She's really starting to play well."

Millie Akers rounded out the Knight's team scoring with her round of 41 for Northview. Madison Kirchner and Jenae Huffman each shot 42 with Maggie Kirchner at 44, Madason Stevenson at 49 and Abby Smith at 51. Kayla Cooper shot a 55 and Kayla Duregger shot a 57.

Cheek and Madison Kirchner each birdied a hole on Thursday afternoon.

Northview will travel to Rae Park on Tuesday for a match with Terre Haute South at 4:30 p.m.
