An early week loss of focus appears over for the Northview golf team who defeated rival Terre Haute North on Thursday evening, 173-190 at Hulman Links.
The Knights who appeared a bit out of sync in an early week win at Rae Park versus Terre Haute South the night before school began, rebounded with a set of strong rounds in their third dual meet victory of the season against no losses.
Brittney Cheek had what coach Teresa Akers called 'one of her best rounds this year' that resulted in a 39 that gave her medalist honors.
"I felt that the girls were more mentally ready tonight," Akers said afterwards. "When we got off the bus the girls were focused on putting and getting ready. We still have some room for improvement, but we played well today."
Millie Akers shot a round of 42 for the Knights ahead of teammate Madison Kirchner who carded a 45. Maggie Kirchner and Jenae Huffman each recorded a 47 with Amber Trusler shooting a 51 and Madason Stevenson at 53.
Haley Merrill led the Patriots with a 44.
Northview (3-0 in dual matches) will travel to Jasper to face off with Evansville Memorial and Jasper Saturday morning.
