Knights down Patriots in dual golf match

Wednesday, September 1, 2004

Kayla Duregger shot a 46 for the Knights on Tuesday.

The Northview golf team got back in the win column on Tuesday night with a Western Indiana Conference victory over Owen Valley, 175 to 205.

The Knights were able to handle the Patriots with several of their regular varsity contributors sitting out the match for Northview. With one more season match than the IHSAA maximum for each golfer to compete in for the year, the Knights have brought up several junior varsity competitors to get match experience.

Jenae Huffman excelled in the role on Tuesday night, carding a 41 for Northview which earned her medalist honors at Rolling Meadows Golf Course.

Erika Tucker carded a 44 for the Knights with both Amber Trusler and Maggie Kirchner scoring 45's. Kayla Duregger shot a 46 and Madason Stevenson fired a 50 in the match.

The Knights (6-1 overall, 2-0 WIC) will be back in action on Thursday at Forest Park for Senior Night vs. Edgewood at 4:30 p.m.
