Northview tennis squad falls to Putnam County foe

The Northview tennis squad lost a dual match at home on Tuesday night, dropping a 4-1 decision to Greencastle.

Ryan Brown and Ryne Barr were the lone winners for the Knights, taking a 4-6, 7-5 (10-2) decision at number two doubles over the Tiger Cubs' Zach Hesler and Vance Cross.

Shawn Hughes lost a two set match versus Greencastle's Alex Nemchonok at number one singles before dropping a 3-6, 6-7 (4-7) decision. At number two singles, Alex Smith lost in a second game tiebreak, 2-6, 6-7 (3-7) and Jacob Talbot lost at number three singles, 1-6, 0-6.

In number one singles, the Knights' squad of Shane Cooper and Clint Grey lost to Johnny Pasho and Zach Stewart, 3-6, 4-6.

Matt Stuckey and Garrett Turpin won their junior varsity match 8-4 while Brodee Miller lost in JV singles.

The Knights will face WIC foe Sullivan on the road on Thursday.
