The girls golf postseason began in style for the Northview Knights with a one-shot team victory for a sectional championship over Jasper at the Sullivan Elks Golf Course.
Northview won their third championship under coach Teresa Akers as Brittney Cheek recorded a medalist score of 78 to lead the Knights to a team score of 342 ahead of Jasper's 343 and Terre Haute North's 375.
All three teams will advance to next weekend's regional played at Otis Park Golf Course in Bedford.
Cheek recorded a 41 through the first nine holes and trailed Linton's Rachel Pruett who scored a 38 halfway through the round. However, Cheek rang up a 37 on the back nine to defeat Pruett by two strokes.
Pruett along with Kara Waggoner of South Knox (80) and Terre Haute South's Diana Price will advance as individuals despite their team's not qualifiying.
Freshman Mary Beth Tribble scored an 88 along with senior Maggie Kirchner and Millie Akers.
The Knights are no stranger to the Otis Park Course where they placed second last year to Evansville Memorial on their way to their third state finals appearance in four years.
Northview will face off once more with Jasper at regionals. The Knights are now 2-1 against the Wildcats after finishing ahead of them in a Terre Haute South Invitational victory and being outscored by them in an early season tournament.
The Bedford North Lawrence Regional will tee off on Saturday at 10 a.m.
