On Homecoming/Alumni Day for the Northview girls soccer team on Saturday, the Knights weren't able to pick up the victory though senior Erin Whitmore tied the school's career points mark with a pair of goals.
The Knights opened the scoring in the game on a penalty kick at the 31:52 mark of the opening half before the Cardinals rallied for two goals and the halftime lead.
In the second half, Washington Catholic again took the offensive with the first goal coming at the 29:29 mark to take a 3-1 advantage. The Lady Knights came back for a goal of their own as Whitmore found the net again with an assist from Natasha Barnett.
Unfortunately for the Knights however, the Cardinals scored the game's final three goals for a 6-2 victory.
Northview goalkeeper Bethany Fagg had 21 saves in the game and the Knights had six team shots on goal. Whitmore had three of those shots in tying Northview grads Jessica Walden and Cecilia Latta with a career high 52 points (20 goals, 12 assists).
Ashley Woodcox led the Knights with three steals in the game with Cassie Webb, Kelsey Scroggins, Lexee Hayes, Heather Foxx and Christine Arvin each tallying two.
The Knights will be in action tonight at Terre Haute North at 5 p.m.
