The North Clay cross country teams earned a four-way meet victory on Monday evening at Owen Valley.
The boys squad tallied just 30 points to run past Shakamak's 51, Clay City's 70 and Owen Valley's 88 team points. The girls team scored 39 points to win over Owen Valley's 48, Clay City's 94 and Shakamak's 155.
Drew Gambill of Shakamak was the boys' winner in 10:07 to beat out North Clay's Chris Smith (10:27) and Clay City's Braxton Griffith (10:34). Danielle Matsel of Owen Valley was the girls' winner in 11:32, just ahead of Clay City's Lindy Jones in 11:35 and Carmela Roeschlein was third in 11:42 with North Clay's Raven Enders in fourth in 11:46.
North Clay's boys squad got a strong pack finish from Jared Royer, Josh Morris and Eli Kirby who were fifth, sixth and seventh with Spenser Barrett of Clay City in eighth and E.C. Moody placing 10th for the Knights.
In the girls event, Casandra Barnett of North Clay was seventh followed by Tiffany Young in eighth place and Shelby Bass in ninth.
The Knights will next compete at Craig Park versus South Putnam at 4:30.
