Laura McCrea sends home a point during last week's win over Owen Valley.

The Northview Knights will get another crack at defending sectional Terre Haute South on the volleyball court in the semifinals of the Northview Sectional.

After losing to the Braves in last year's sectional opener, the Knights played South tough in a match earlier this season before falling in four sets to set up next week's rematch for all the marbles.

The Knights have perhaps their best team in years and currently sport an 18-5 mark overall and come in with a Western Indiana Conference title under their belts while South has battled injuries all season long.

In Northview's favor is the fact that they will play host to the sectional and also are in the bye bracket, needing to win just two matches to claim a sectional title.

In first round matchups Plainfield faces off with Terre Haute North with Mooresville to play Martinsville.

'C' Team Tournament

The Lady Knights' 'C' team won two of three games at the Brown County Tourney on Saturday morning.

Northview opened with a 30-28, 25-9 win over the host Eagles before dropping a 23-25, 15-25 match to Moorestown and winning their last contest against Bedford, 25-23, 25-22.

The Knights were led by Brittany Searing's 17 service points with Mallory Heffner adding 15 along with Olivia Kumpf. Abby Birkey chipped in with 12 points on the day while Andrea James had 11.

The squad improved to 16-4 this season with the wins and will play Riverton Parke as part of a freshman, JV and varsity match tonight beginning at 5 p.m.
