Clay City girls trounce Warriors

The Clay City Eels improved to 5-1 overall this season with a 49-19 thumping over host Turkey Run on Saturday afternoon.

The Eels put the Warriors away early by outscoring Turkey Run 15-0 in the opening period and cruising to a comfortable victory.

Whitney McWilliams led the way with a game-high 14 points in the game while Cameron Gerber added 10 points for the Eels who also got a season-high eight points from Sara Kennedy.

The Eels also won the junior varsity game, defeating the Warriors 31-17 to remain unbeaten on the season.

Clay City travels to Vincennes Rivet tonight for a 6 p.m. contest.
