Grigsby goes unbeaten at Westfield; Knights 2-3 in duals

The Northview Knights took home one individual title and went 2-3 against some stiff competition at the Westfield Tournament on Saturday.

The Knights won 75-4 over Northwest and 82-6 over Park Tudor but lost decisions to Triton Central (33-39), Westfield (21-51) and Mt. Vernon (30-42).

Corey Grigsby went 5-0 on the day at 130 pounds, picking up first period falls against Mt. Vernon and Northwest and decisions against Westfield and Triton Central.

Despite dropping their first matches of the year in the tourney, both Tony Sanabria and Jeremiah Allen were 4-1 on the afternoon.

Sanabria pinned opponents from Westfield, Triton Central and Northwest and received a forfeit from Park Tudor. Sanabria's pin over Northwest came in just 23 seconds.

Allen meanwhile got a pair of forfeits, a fall versus Triton Central and a decision over Westfield.

Greg Stultz was also 4-1 on the afternoon along with Chris Dean.

At 145 pounds, Stultz won decisions over Mt. Vernon (7-2), Westfield (8-6 OT) and Northwest (16-6) and earned a forfeit over Park Tudor. Stultz picked up two pins, a decision and a forfeit in the tournament.

Josh Longo also was 4-1 at 103 pounds while Austin Nicosin, Beau Pingleton, Lucas Boyd, Caleb Dutrow and Brent Withers each were 3-2 on the day.

Northview is now 6-5 in dual matches this year and travel to Owen Valley tonight for a WIC showdown at 6 p.m.
