The Clay City Eels improved to 7-3 on Thursday night with a 48-31 victory over Shakamak.
Returning from five consecutive games on the road, the Eels halted a two-game losing streak with the win over the Lakers.
Junior Whitney McWilliams had 12 of her 22 points in the first half as Clay City jumped out to a 26-14 advantage. She would hit four 3-pointers in the game for the Eels who also got solid outings from Sarah Kennedy, Cameron Gerber and Bryleigh Schopmeyer.
In the junior varsity game the Eels earned a 22-18 victory. Angie Camp had seven points in the win.
Next up for the Eels is a home game versus Union on Monday evening.
