Golden Arrows handle Eels

After holding off the North Daviess Cougars at home on Monday night, Clay City fell behind by 10 points after one quarter and wasn't able to recover in a 67-44 loss.

Golden Arrow junior Erica Moore scored a career-high 25 points and freshman Emily Lahay added 21 as Sullivan won their seventh straight game.

Sullivan put the game away in the second quarter during which they tallied 23 points and took a 20 point advantage heading into halftime. The Eels were outscored by just three points in the second half.

Cameron Gerber led the Eels with 15 points and leading scorer Whitney McWilliams was held to just nine points, nearly nine points below her season average.

In the junior varsity contest, the Eels dropped a 38-30 overtime decision to the Golden Arrows.

Up next for Clay City (9-7 overall) is a contest at home versus Northview on Tuesday night beginning at 6 p.m.
