Two new teams will add to the excitement of this yearís Pizza Hut Wabash Valley Classic, scheduled for December 27, 28, 29 and 30, 2005 at Terre Haute North Vigo High School.
The 16-team field was announced today by Gary Fears, chairperson of the Pizza Hut Wabash Valley Classic Committee. New teams to join the tournament this year are the Owen Valley Patriots and the Crawfordsville Athenians.
Repeat participants from the 2004 tournament will be Bethesda Christian, Bloomfield, Greencastle, Monrovia, Northview, Riverton Parke, Rockville, South Vermillion, Sullivan, Terre Haute North Vigo, Terre Haute South Vigo, Turkey Run and West Vigo in Indiana; and Marshall High School in Illinois. The actual tournament pairings will be announced at a random drawing on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at Terre Haute North Vigo.
Fears said, "We look forward to adding these two new Class 3A schools to the tournament field. They both anticipate having quality teams next season, and truly believe they can compete for the championship."
The Pizza Hut Wabash Valley Classic is recognized as one of the best holiday boysí basketball tournaments in Indiana, allowing each team to play at least three, and possibly four, games in the four-day competition.
