The Northview Knights and 10th ranked Martinsville battled to an 11-inning scoreless tie on Friday's softball action. The game was called due to darkness.
Northview pitcher Stephanie Jonson went the distance, striking out seven batters, allowing four hits and three walks. Of her 115 pitches, 85 of them were for strkes.
Kayla Glassburn and Kayla Harlan each had hits for the Knights who got a standout defensive play from Kyler Clark in the ninth inning.
Clark nailed a runner out at home to keep the game scoreless.
"Our defense was unreal tonight," said coach Bethany Jones. "We had some players who came in tonight and really did their part. Jessica Raderstorf came in and drew a walk and Chandra Burns made a great play in the outfield."
The Knights (1-1-1 overall) this year will be back in action when they host Bloomington South at 5:45 on Monday.
