The Northview junior varsity baseball team took a cue from their varsity counterparts with an offensive outburst in an 11-0 shutout of Riverton Parke on Thursday night.
Making their season debut, the JV Knights handled the Panthers in easy fashion behind the pitching of Graig Bass and Jordan Starr.
Bass was the winning pitcher, getting the start and allowing just two infield singles over three innings while fanning six and walking one batter. Starr came in to close out the contest, pitching the final two frames and striking out five without allowing a walk.
At the plate, Bass had a double and a pair of RBI's and Starr came through with a pair of hits and three runs driven in for the Knights.
Chase Yocom added a pair of hits and stole three bases and John Adam Reberger and a pair of hits for Northview.
The Knights (1-0 overall) will visit rival West Vigo on Monday night for a 5 p.m. start.
