The Northview B and C baseball teams are off to strong starts this season with each team winning their first two games of the year.
On Monday night the 'B' squad earned an 8-3 victory over host West Vigo with John Adam Reberger picking up the pitching victory on the mound.
Chase Yocom had a pair of hits for the Knights with Reberger, Austin Bryan, Travis Nodley, Jordan Starr and Jordan Pond each picking up hits in the victory that moves the Knights to 2-0 this season with a game against Shakamak tonight at 5 p.m.
The 'C' team earned their second win of the year against the Vikings as well with a 13-5 decision on Monday.
Trey Horn got the pitching victory with 2 2/3 innings of relief work following J.J. Smerdel who struckout five and allowed four hits in the start.
Horn struckout six and walked two in his stint and also had a hit in the game. Smerdel also contributed a hit in the game.
Jared Lumsdon had a pair of hits and drove in two runs in the game and Curtis Peters added two hits, including a double with an RBI. Alex Smith drove home two with a double and Keaton Robertson added a hit.
"As a team we struckout too many times," commented Coach Kent Bass. "We need to put the ball in play more often."
Last week the Knights opened the season with a win over Crawfordsville, 2-0.
Peters went the distance on the mound with a 10 strikeout performance in the seven inning shutout and allowed just one hit.
"Curtis did an excellent job of mixing up his pitches and keeping them off balance," noted Bass.
Smerdel had a double and a single in the game and Lumsdon drove in a run with a hit and Nick Lancaster also had a hit.
The 'C' team will be back in action on Friday night in a doubleheader versus Terre Haute South at 5 p.m.
