Northview softball splits; Eels win versus Linton

Lindsay Thomas had three hits in the first game of a double header versus Sullivan on Wednesday.

The Northview softball team split a pair of Wednesday games with host Sullivan by identical 4-3 scores.

After rain washed out the first of back-to-back games at Northview on Tuesday night, the Knights traveled to Sullivan for a pair of games.

In the first contest, Sullivan broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the seventh inning to pick up a 4-3 win. Ally McKinley singled home Lacey Whitlock for the winning run despite being outhit 10-6 by the Knights.

Lindsay Thomas went 3-for-4 for Northview and both Casey Challandes and Traci Sanders each had a pair of hits in the loss.

In game two, the Knights used two run innings in both the first and third innings to win a 4-3 decision over the Golden Arrows.

Reva LeDune had a two-run homerun for Sullivan, but Challandes had another two hit game for Northview and Sky Singleton added a double in the victory.

The Knights (7-4-1 overall, 5-3 WIC) will play in the Jasper Tournament on Friday and Saturday.


Clay City Softball

The Clay City Eels earned a 4-1 victory over host Linton on Wednesday night as Kristin Tyler doubled and Loni Rhodes and Lindsay Moss each had two RBIs for the Eels.

Clay City will travel to Union on Monday evening at 4:30 p.m.
