Dyer pitches shutout to lead Eels past Eminence

Matt Vansickle had one of Clay City's three hits in Friday's win over Eminence.

The Clay City Eels won their third game of the season on Friday night with a 2-0 shutout of visiting Eminence.

Brock Dyer got the complete game victory for the Eels, allowing just three hits.

The game was a pitcher's duel with both teams getting just three hits apiece. Klay Knox gave the Eels a sacrifice fly in the first inning as Clay City got on the board early. The Eels added another single run in the third inning and Dyer made the lead hold up in winning his first game of the season.

Knox, Matt Vansickle and Josh Strain each had a hit for Clay City (3-7 overall, 3-2 TRC) who will be back in action on Thursday at Bloomfield.
