Northview repeated as Washington Tournament baseball champions after defeating both Bedford North Lawrence and the host Washington Hatchets on Saturday afternoon.
The Knights defeated the Stars 7-4 in the championship game as Michael Stuckey pitched one-hit ball through six innings before BNL mounted a rally.
The Stars loaded the bases with no outs and scored three runs before a line drive to third baseman Shawn Hughes resulted in a triple play as Hughes caught the liner, tagged third and threw to first to end the game.
T.J. King had two hits with an RBI and a run scored in the game and Brady Shoemaker added a solo homerun in the third inning as part of his two hit game. He had two RBIs in the game.
Jesse Johnson had two hits and scored twice and Hughes also had a pair of hits in addition to his defensive save. Wade Thacker contributed two hits to the Knights' 13 hit attack. Graig Bass, Shane Cooper and Craig Trout each had hits.
In the morning's first game, Northview went 10 innings before earning a 3-2 victory over Washington.
Nick Wells threw a gem over the first eight innings, allowing just one run before Shoemaker came in to relieve in the ninth inning to earn the victory.
Thacker and Cooper each singled in the game and both scored in the 10th inning on an error. Hughes also had a double as Northview had just three hits but still won the game to move on to the championship game.
