Wabash Valley All-Star game at Rose Hulman tonight

Northview has eight players listed on the Wabash Valley All-Star roster, including (left to right) Zach Godsey, Heath Chamberlain, Craig Trout and Brady Shoemaker.

Rose Hulman's Phil Brown Field will play host to the Wabash Valley All-Star game this evening at 7 p.m.

The game will give players from 24 different high schools (17 in Indiana, seven from Illinois) a chance to show off their skills at the prep level one last time before many head to the collegiate level.

Northview is well represented on the roster with eight players listed along with head coach George Gettle who will coach the North team which includes players from Turkey Run, Rockville, Terre Haute North, West Vigo, Riverton Parke, North Vermillion, North Putnam, South Vermillion and Northview from Indiana High Schools. Also included are players from Illinois schools, Paris and Marshall. Northview defensive coordinator Dan Mikesell will also be on the staff along with Rockville's Broc Leslie, a former Northview assistant, along with Terre Haute North's Greg Barrett, Mick Roberts of Paris and Troy Johnson of Marshall.

Coaching the South squad will be Greencastle High School coach John Fallis, a member of the most recent class of the Indiana Football Hall of Fame. His assistants will be Jay Engle of Terre Haute South, Steve Weber of Linton, Mike White from Lawrenceville and Jarrod Duff of Greencastle.

On the North roster are former Northview linebackers Cory Grigsby and Craig Trout along with linemen Jeremiah Allen and Heath Chamberlain. Wide receivers Michael Landry and TJ King and defensive back Brady Shoemaker are also on the roster with running back Zach Godsey.

Marshall's Casey Leinberger will be the quarterback for the North squad. He threw for nearly 1,500 yards and ran for over 400 yards for the Lions. He passed for 14 touchdowns and ran for five more. Other players of note on the all star rosters will be Rockville running back Kurtis Barker who ran for 2,084 yards this season, sixth in the state, and 17 touchdowns this year. He'll be joined on the North squad by West Vigo's Shawn Sullivan, one of the Vikings all-time leading rushers.

Tickets for the game will be available at the gate for $4.
