CYL wins Championship

CYL 11's won the Southwest State Championship.

In the first game, CYL beat Cloverdale 20-0.

Travis Hakman had three singles, Jordan Girton 3 singles and a double, Bryant Pestoff had three singles and a double, Coleman Craig and Zach Hull pitched two innings each, allowing one hit, walking six and striking out six.

In the second game, CYL defeated Vincennes 4-3.

Coleman Craig hit a walk off home run to win the game. Zach Hull had two singles and Jordan Girton had a double and Craig Peters a single.

T.J. Decker pitched a complete game, allowing six hits, walked none and struck out three.

In the third game, CYL was defeated by Newburgh, 6-2.

Zach Hull had two singles, Travis Hakman a single and Coleman Craig a single.

In the next game, CYL defeated Vincennes 5-3. Jordan Girton had a single, Bryant Pestoff a single and Brock Wheeler a single.

T.J. Decker and Coleman Craig combined to pitch, They gave up eight hits, walked two and struck out six. That put CYL in the championship against Newburgh.

CYL defeated Newburgh in the first game 5-3 as Coleman Craig and Zach Hull combined to allow five hits, four walks and struck out two. Travis Hakman had a single and a double. Bryant Pestoff had two singles. Zach Hull had a three-run homer, forcing a second championship game and CYL, defeated Newburg 5-2.

T.J. Decker pitched a complete game, allowing four hits, walking three and striking out seven.

Hitting for CYL, Travis Hakman had two singles, Bryant Pestoff had two singles, Zach Hull had two doubles and Brock Wheeler had a single.

CYL now has a chance to go to Newburgh for the Southern State Championship where they will play the Southeast Champion in game that is now undecided.

The winner must win two out of three games.

The series is scheduled Saturday at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. If necessary, a third game is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday.
