Skelton's Taekwondo fares well at Danville Tournament

Fourteen members of Skelton's Takwondo Academy traveled from Brazil to Danville, Illinois on July 16 to compete in the ATA Regional Taekwondo Tournament. The American Taekwondo Association offers many programs ranging from basic martial arts, to self defense, to esteem and life skill building. Skelton's Taekwondo Academy members earned 26 trophies in Sparring, Weapons, Form and One Step. They competed in the Pee Wee, Kid, Junior, Teen and Adult Divisions. The participants and their placement were:

Dr. Dennis Skelton -- 5th Degree Black Belt and Certified Instructor: 2nd Sparring

Ronald Newbury -- 4th Degree Black Belt and Certified Instructor: 3rd Form, 3rd Weapons, 3rd Sparring,

Jacob Booker -- 1st Degree Black Belt: 4th Form

Brett Warren -- Brown Belt: 3rd Form, 2nd Weapons, 3rd Sparring

Aaron Bruce -- Purple Belt: 2nd Form, 1st Sparring

Taylor Buis -- Purple Belt: 3rd Sparring

Nathan Brown -- Camouflage Belt: 1st Form, 1st Weapons, 2nd Sparring

Kane Thomas -- Camouflage Belt: 4th Form

Morgan Brown -- Yellow Belt: 1st Form, 1st Weapons, 3rd One Step

Seth Harrison -- Yellow Belt: 2nd One Step

Patrick Herrick -- Yellow Belt: 3rd Form, 2nd One Step

Elijah Stinson -- Yellow Belt: 1st One Step

Emily Stinson -- Yellow Belt: 3rd Form, 2nd One Step

Allison Herrick -- Orange Belt: 1st Form, 1st One Step
