The Brazil Parks and Recreation Board unveiled additional changes to the 2008 budget on Wednesday.
An across-the-board 3 percent increase in expenses was one of the changes.
The addition of salaries for park security, a tractor replacement and a new storage building were also discussed and approved by the board.
Salary raises for pool employees were also a hot topic.
"These people work very hard, and with the increase in the minimum wage, we needed to make some changes in their salaries," Board President Ruth Ann Jeffries said. "We took a look at other area wages, Greencastle and Vigo County, and we factored in location. Our managers do more than manage employees, and work longer hours than most managers. They are very hands-on and dedicated. We also had several employees who needed to be raised up to the minimum wage. I think we've been very fair."
The raise will go into effect at the beginning of the 2008 swimming season.
The amount of after-hours parties reserved this year has been up, as is the amount of swimmers taking lessons.
The last day of swimming is Aug. 14, for the 2007 year. The pool will close for the season on Aug. 15.
