Girls soccer team comes up short

The Northview girls soccer team came up on the short end of a 1-0 score with Sullivan on Wednesday night as Paige Gill found the net with just 4:17 remaining in the game.

Both squads played to a scoreless tie in the first half as Northview tallied 38 steals, with 11 coming from Heather Foxx and Abby Birkey adding six. Sage Graverson added five of her own in the half.

Christine Arvin had a big first half with 24 saves to keep the Knights even with the Golden Arrows.

In the JV game, Northview downed the Arrows by a 4-1 count as Jennifer Woodcox scored a pair of goals, assisted by Cayla Yockey and Sarah Roeschlein. Kylee Thacker finalized the scoring with two goals of her own. Sheila Spencer assisted on the first of Thacker's goals.

Kelsey Modesitt led the Knights with five steals as Yockey and Rachel Roeschlein added four steals. Tara Crooks had nine saves in net for Northview which improved their JV record to 3-0.

The next game for both the JV and varsity is on Saturday at home versus Greencastle.
