Chase Yocom hauls in one of his four catches for 79 yards in Friday night's 42-13 win over Sullivan.

SULLIVAN -- The Northview Knights accomplished their most important goal on Friday night, emerge from Sullivan with their unbeaten road winning streak and WIC record unscathed.

And they did so with a dominant first half effort.

The Knights came out like gangbusters in the first quarter, kicking off to the Arrows to start the game and immediately forcing a three plays and out and taking over on their own 42-yard line after the punt.

Northview wasted little time in establishing what would become a nightmarish theme for the Arrows.

Quick strike scoring.

On the second play from scrimmage, Jamie Bays took the handoff and flashed to the rightside and down the sideline for a 53-yard touchdown score and a 7-0 lead for the Knights.

The Northview defense must have liked what they saw as once more they stuffed the Arrows on three straight plays to return the ball via punt back to the Northview offense. After a completed eight-yard pass to Devon Chamberlain and two incomplete passes and a Bays first yard run. Broc Miller took the ball himself for a 28-yard touchdown score and the Knights led 14-0 just six minutes into the game.

The Knights defense played a near perfect first half, stuffing the Sullivan run and allowing them just two first downs in the half while forcing punts on the first four Arrows possessions. By the time the Arrows got their first fresh set of downs, the Knights had virtually put the game away.

On Northview's third possession of the first quarter, Miller hooked up on 17-and 32-yard passes to Chase Yocom sandwiched around a 15-yarder to Bays to setup a three-yard blast up the middle for Bays to put the Knights up 21-0 heading to the second period.

The Northview defense would get a score in the second period as Jared Timm scooped up a Sullivan fumble on the 15-yard line and weaved his way in for a touchdown with two minutes remaining in the half and Dean Netzler would later recover another fumble. The Northview defense allowed just 56 yards of offense by the Arrows in the first half.

In the second half, the Knights would receive the ball first, taking over on their own 48 yard line.

Before Sullivan fans could even get settled into their seats, Miller hooked up on a 52-yard scoring strike to Chamberlain just 16 seconds into the half to put the Knights ahead 35-0 and from there the Knights were on cruise control.

Perhaps just a bit too much for head coach George Gettle's taste.

"I was kind of unhappy that our goal is to get better each play. I don't feel like we did that tonight. I'm glad we won, but there were a lot of mental mistakes and you can't be happy with things like that."

Sullivan would get a score on a short field following a long punt return by Derrick DeMoss that set them up on the Northview 35-yard line. Against the second-string Knights defense, quarterback Ethan Wright would find Trent Dudley for their first score.

The Knights would get their final score when Devin Hyatt squirted through a hole in the Sullivan line and raced 75-yards for a touchdown with 10 minutes left in the game. Sullivan would get the game's last score on a seven-yard pass to Ethan Witvoet with just under three minutes remaining.

With the victory, the Knights head home with a 2-0 WIC mark with a battle against conference foe Owen Valley. "I'm happy we won and we're 3-1, it's huge playing at home against Owen Valley. I think that game will go a long way towards deciding the WIC."
