The Clay City volleyball team seems to keep getting better with age as they defeated host Sullivan on Monday night in a five set marathon, 16-25, 25-17, 25-16, 23-25, 15-13.
Junior middle hitter, Ashley McCullough led the way for the Eels with a balanced 18 kill evening combined with seven blocks and 11 points from the service line. She teamed with setter, Chelsee Gerber, who distributed 16 assists while contributing eight points and Angie Camp added seven kills and five blocks in the contest. Junior, Courtney Dayhuff added 11 assists to go with eight points.
The JV Eels also were successful, earning a straight set, 25-10, 25-20 victory that improved their record to 8-1 overall.
