The Clay City Junior High cross country teams each earned a victory on Monday evening in a three-way meet with Sullivan and Linton.
Highlighting the night was a course record run by Lindy Jones who won the girls meet in a time of 14:04 to best teammate Carmela Roeschlein who was second individually in 15:33. The Eels won the meet with a team score of 13 to beat out Sullivan's 17 and Linton's 49.
Placing sixth overall for the Eels was Kayleigh Arnold who ran a sixth place time of 17:47 with Shay Stephenson in ninth, Allie Miller in 12th and Abby Reed in 13th.
In the boys meet, the Eels got past Sullivan despite the visitors taking the top two spots in the meet.
Clay City was topped by Parker Modesitt who was third in 14:20 with a pack of teammates taking the fifth through eighth spots to win the meet with 25 points. Sullivan had 38 with Linton not fielding a complete team.
Fifth place for the Eels was Jacob Payne (15:12) in fifth followed by Kyle Yocum (15:43), Jesse Vansickle (15:50) and Steven Palmer (15:52).
Filling out the field for the Eels was Austin Sinders in 11th, Logan Higgins in 15th and Tanner Persinger in 18th.
