Clay City boys win TRC

Clay City's boys cross country team earned a Tri-River Conference meet on Tuesday night, defeating second place North Central by 17 points.

The Eels' Logan Bettenbrock was the overall winner in 17:07 to help Clay City to the victory with just 29 points followed by North Central with 46, Shakamak had 72 points with Eminence and Linton rounding out the field.

Adam Schroer was fourth in the race at 17:30 with Cole Schroer in fifth at 17:50, Tyler Moon and Kevin Cook rounded out the top-10 and were on the All-Conference team.

Braxton Griffith was 13th in the race followed by Austin Vansickle in 15th and Ben Denker won the all-comers race in a time of 19:36.

In the girls race, Linton scored 44 team points to win the race followed by Shakamak, North Central, Clay City and Eminence.

Andrea Ladd was the top finisher for the Eels in a time of 17:30, good for fifth place and Rachael Narlock also earned All-Conference honors with her eighth place time of 18:9.

Alisha Drake was 13th in 18:36 with Kristin Tyler in 26th, Chelsea Riggs in 28th, Erika Kimmel was 31st and Whitney Ames was 34th.
