Northview's girls soccer team won their fifth match of the season on Thursday night, earning a 5-0 shutout over host Owen Valley that improved their WIC mark to 4-1 overall.
"We had pretty good play across the board," commented coach Don Bryan. "We had some nice combination play in the middle and Kelsey Haring and Ahnya Alstott gave us some nice pressure."
The Knights got on the board first with a score from Ashley Woodcox with assists from Abby Birkey and Jennifer Woodcox 17 minutes into the game as Northview adjusted to a field that was a bit soggy according to Bryan.
Alstott increased the lead with a goal that made the score 2-0 before Birkey sent Northview into the halftime break with a three goal advantage.
In the second half, Jennifer Woodcox scored the first goal and Cayla Yockey added the next tally with Brittney Tucker finishing the scoring for the Knights.
Christina Arvin was in net until the midway point of the second half when Tara Crooks finished the shutout for the Knights.
Northview improves to 5-10 overall and will face Southmont on Tuesday evening at home.
