High school football teams around the state found out their sectional paths on Sunday evening.
Northview and Terre Haute North were the only teams who received opening round home games with the Knights getting a chance at redemption versus the team that knocked them from the postseason last year.
The Knights will get another shot at Greenwood, a team that beat them 42-0 last year in the second round of sectional play before falling to Mooresville in the sectional championship game.
The Woodsmen, currently 9th in Class 4A, come into this week's game versus Whiteland sporting a 6-1 mark, with their only loss coming in the season's opening week against unbeaten and top-ranked Columbus East.
Owen Valley (6-1) received the first round bye while Bloomington North (1-6) travels to Mooresville (2-5). Franklin Community (3-4) will visit Whiteland (2-5).
Terre Haute North (3-4) will play host to Bloomington South (5-2) while Terre Haute South (2-5) will travel to Avon (6-1).
Perhaps the highlight of area first round games could be Linton-Stockton's matchup against Perry Central.
Both squads are unbeaten through their first seven games this year with the Miners currently fifth in the Class A Coaches' Poll last week and the Commodores sitting in fifth. Perry Central is currently allowing just 6.3 points per game while scoring just under 45 points a game. The Miners are scoring 52.1 ppg. and giving up just 7.3 ppg.
Sectional action will begin on October 21 around the state.
