Clay City earns pair of conference volleyball wins

Chelsee Gerber had eight assists and seven points in a win over Eastern Greene.

The Clay City Eels earned a pair of wins this week, taking a Tuesday night, 25-15, 25-20, 25-22 decision over Eastern Greene.

Sarah Kennedy had 15 points, six kills and five blocks and Ashley McCullough added 12 kills and eight blocks for the victorious Eels. Angie Camp contributed nine points with three blocks and three kills. Chelsee Gerber added eight assists and seven points.

Against Shakamak, the Eels won a 23-25, 25-12, 25-22, 25-17 contest with Kendra Roe providing 13 points and 11 digs to go with McCullough's eight blocks and 11 kills and eight points. Kennedy added another 12 points, six kills and four blocks. Courtney Dayhuff had 14 points and 11 assists for the Eels.

In JV action, the Eels downed the Lakers 25-14, 25-18 and against the Thunderbirds, Clay City won 25-12, 25-22.

The Eels are now 14-3 overall this season and return home to face North Daviess on Monday night.
